After another sultry night's sleep we started to pack our bags and prepare for the journey to Budapest.
The breakfasts at Suzanne are excellent. Always hard boiled eggs, meusli, a large pot of coffee with warmed creamer, different fresh buns, jam, cheese and some cold meat and orange and another type of fresh juice. It is a great way to start the day with a big breakfast. The staff are very courteous and helpful.
The biggest problem we face is the “escape” from the centre of Vienna. The GPS is proving to be a real pain and no matter what I do, the route never seems to work properly. I then used the tomtom site to plan the route and saved it into the computer. Although the route out of Vienna was full of street names like Schwazenbergstrasse, we did manage to get out without much trouble...albeit a few horns from cars following us. One on the A4 we just followed the Budapest signs. We left at about 11:30 am and eta was to be 2 pm. Only one stop, at the Hungarian border to get a pass for the major highways (autopyres).
When we got close to Budapest we took the M0. This was under heavy construction. However, |I remembered that the exit (kijarat) was Budafok. From there I was using memory to find the Heim residence on Baross U. 7. We had a minor one way street problem but again we got up the hill and found them. It was a warm welcome from Jansci and Gyorgyi; some cold beer and soon we were in our bathing suites enjoying the pool and having several cocktails.
The weather seemed nicer away from the downtown centre like Vienna. The pool water was perfect. Soon we were dining on freshly barbeqed sausage with wonderful fresh bread and a Greek salad that Jancsi made.
We had a nice relaxing evening of banter and one more dip in the pool and we were ready for bed.
It was quite warm at night but we had a nice fan and by the morning we felt much cooler.
