The time now seems to fly. Again another hot day. We had a huge breakfast- rolls, meat, cheese, jams, coffee and orange juice. Samu(Jancsi and Gyorgyi grandchild) and Gabor came over about 10 am. We spent the next 3 hours around the pool. A few cocktails helped us get through the hot weather.
For ebed (lunch) we had stuffed kohlrabi, it was very delicious. It is also easy to make. I will try this when we get back.
In the afternoon, it was decided to go to Siafok to the beach since the temperature of the water was 28 Celsius. We went via Erd which made the trip longer. I drove since we had klima |(air-conditioning).It was 36 Celsius as we drove but we hit one shower that dropped the temperature outside to 26 Celsius.
Van nehez irni Angulol (it is difficult to write in English) since I am hearing so much Hungarian.
The beach was wonderful even though it sounds like the temperature was very hot. There was a little breeze so it felt very nice. We all had several swims in the water. It is a shallow lake so you can walk out very far.
For supper we had sojtos langos (garlic, sour cream and shredded cheese) it was fantastic.
After we took a setanyi (evening walk) in Siafok. It is a very popular tourist spot, much like Wasaga Beach but no sand on the beach, only in the water. There is a long “boardwalk” inland with many arcade spots and restaurants and bars. It is a popular place for the young.
The trip home was very fast. The speed limit on the autopyres is 130 kmph. We had no trouble keeping up with traffic. Occasionally we saw some cars doing 200 kmph.
We stopped at the benzenekut (gas station). We figured out that the deisel gasoline was the lesser of the two diesel types. It was 327 HUF (I think) per little. Over $1.25 CAD per litre. Very expensive. Jansci paid for a full tank of diesel which was very generous of them.
It was another very hot night. The weather is expected to improve on Saturday.
