The flight from Toronto was very good. One hot meal and a small breakfast. However, the seats were very cramped and the washrooms at the other end of the plane. We met a Hungarian lady from Canada, Eva, who sat with us. She was very nice and we had a lot of conversation, some in Hungarian.
We arrived right on time in Vienna and got our bags fast and we saw Ladislov immediately. The car was ready but the GPS proved to be a problem. We partly followed the Internet map and then relied on the GPS. We got lost in the centre of Vienna but got help from a student and we found another spot where we asked for help again. We were very close to the “pension”. We got our rooms... a kichenette unit no air conditioning but a nice fan. A little more pricy but worth the extra. Management were very accommodating. With no sleep yet, we went out about 6 pm and wandered around the main pedestrian mall and saw Stephen's dome and then we found a nice restaurant on a side street. We had nice cold tap beer and schnitzel and rischgulasch(Hungarian goulash). The schnitzel was a little over-done but tasty. The goulash was very tender and had a flavourful sauce. The price with tip was 35euros.
We returned to our rooms and slept till 7 am. It was a wonderful sleep... very quiet.
